An absolute stunning place to go wandering around to emerge yourself in all that magical ancient history that this building & it's surrounding area has to offer, breathtaking & a privilege to see.
Beautiful gardens. I hope the tortoises have been moved to a spot that includes a bush to provide some shade, to imitate its natural habitat. Was rather cruel seeing the animal, in the blistering heat, in a 2m x 2m 'box'.
Lovely place...seems unreal! Beautiful and inspiring...makes me want to get into my garden! The hosts are wonderful and very welcoming. Highly recommended!
What a beautiful place, you feel a real presence when you walk around the abbey..
A magical, beautiful place. Far more extensive than I expected. Superbly well designed and maintained. Upper area is an Alice in Wonderland sort of a garden. You then descend (down paths that are very steep in places and would benefit from a handrail to help the elderly and infirm) to a lovely wooded area on the banks of the river. There's a cafe but, on such a hot day, the seating area was too warm to sit in. They also have a room that accommodates meetings and functions and I'd imagine that guests would be delighted with the choice of venue.
